Melbourne Graduate School of Education
LH Martin Institute for Higher Education Leadership and Management
During 2009 the LH Martin Institute’s Executive Education Programs received outstanding evaluations from participants, and we have now confirmed the first eight programs in the 2010 Executive Education range. The first two executive programs to be held next year are:
Conversations with Frans van Vught: Quality, Standards and Multi-Dimensional Rankings, March 2010, Melbourne & Auckland Whilst no one would argue against quality as a cornerstone of any system, standards and rankings are far more controversial concepts. Starting from a basis in welfare economics, Frans van Vught will argue that whether we like it or not, we cannot escape sorting out the standards debate and coming up with standards that will serve to convince our external constituencies about the qualities we stand for.
Budgeting & Financial Management for the Tertiary Sector, 28-29 April, Melbourne This program provides an opportunity for those responsible for managing financial resources to enhance their understanding of financial systems, tools and processes and optimise their use in improved management and strategic planning.
The Master of Tertiary Education Management (MTEM) is a two year, part-time, professionally oriented graduate program for practitioners in Australia and New Zealand, awarded by the University of Melbourne.
The 2010 program is full. Applications for the 2011 program are now open.
The Graduate Certificate in Quality Assurance (GCQA) is a one year part-time, on-line, professionally oriented graduate program. This on-line program has been developed in close consultation with INQAAHE and is aimed at professionals working in both national quality assurance agencies and those involved in quality assurance and management at the institutional level. The GCQA is awarded by the University of Melbourne. Applications close: 31 January 2010.
